Police have issued an update after passengers were racially abused on a bus before the driver was then spat at by an 'aggressive' man on Tuesday evening (June 21).

Officers were called out to the incident on the 98 Go North West service, between Shudehill Station and Bury to reports of racial abuse.

Greater Manchester Police announced on Tuesday night that the man had then gone on to 'spit' at the driver before he was later found dancing at a bus stop and arrested. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 6.15pm yesterday (Tuesday 20 June 2023) officers were called to reports of racial abuse on the number 98 bus. "A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated assault.
