Officers descended on Manchester city centre after a man was 'resisting arrest' in the Northern Quarter. A large police presence was seen at Lever Street and Houldsworth Street this morning (August 24).
Eyewitnesses claimed the area was 'full of police cars' as officers dealt with an incident. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that officers attended an incident on Lever Street at 11.40am.

It was about 11.45am. It was like the whole force had turned up. I think it was only for one guy as well." Locals also raised concern about the police presence on social media.
