Excitable Tartan Army supporters from Perthshire have already been mapping out plans for a Scots invasion of Germany next year.

The national football team’s spot at Euro 2024 was this week confirmed - with two games to spare - following a campaign of scintillating highs.

Among the travelling party already booked up and heading for the continent in June and July will be the intrepid Jailer Tours.

In fact, such was the confidence that Steve Clarke’s men would get the job done, flights and accommodation was nailed down months ago. “We booked flights to Berlin with Ryanair at the end of June,” explained trip organiser Craig Mailer (56) of St Madoes. “There are 50 of our group booked up. “We have hotels throughout Germany booked up with free cancellation and are waiting on the draw on December 2 to finalise our plans.” Scotland’s place at the major finals has been achieved thanks to a Group A record of five wins and one loss.
