Manchester United begin their defence of the Carabao Cup with a home tie against Crystal Palace to kick off a double-header against the Eagles.
The Reds are due to host Roy Hogdson and his team again in the Premier League on Saturday and so both sides could ring in a number of changes.
Palace have a handful of important players sidelined while United are set to welcome back at least two. Harry Maguire and Mason Mount are in contention for selection while Raphael Varane came on late against Burnley after picking up a knock against Nottingham Forest last month.
