Paulo Bernardo says he still keeps in touch with his old pal Jota after he gave him a lesson in what to expect at Celtic. The Portuguese midfielder joined on loan from Benfica in the summer and has had to wait patiently for his chances with Callum McGregor, Matt O'Riley and Reo Hatate the established midfield three.

But he could be in line for a run in the team now after Brendan Rodgers confirmed Hatate will be out until after Christmas at the earliest.

Bernardo was the man called upon to replace him against Atletico Madrid and made his first start against Hibs at the weekend.

And he'll be hoping to emulate his old Benfica teammate Jota and make himself a Celtic hero too. Jota joined on an initial loan from the Portuguese giants two years ago and did enough to earn a permanent move before the Hoops cashed in on interest from Saudi Arabia.
