Sheffield Wednesday's squad depth is the best in League One. That is the view of ex-Queens Park Rangers and Reading forward Jamie Mackie.

Darren Moore's Owls side dug deep to grind out three points at home to Charlton Athletic yesterday. Moore made three inspired substitutes just before the hour mark, throwing on George Byers, Tyreeq Bakinson and Lee Gregory.

The changes helped swing things Wednesday's way as Bakinson grabbed a late winner after great work from Josh Windass. Bakinson powered a header past Jojo Wollacott to wrap up the Owls' third straight win across all competitions.

Speaking on ITV's English Football League highlights show last night, pundit Mackie said: "I think they have got the strength in depth in the division.
