(Photo by Glyn KIRK / AFP)Nigeria’s Favour Ofili has broken the national and African record in the women’s 300m at the 2024 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on Sunday.Ofili ran a time of 35.99 seconds to set the new record.She becomes the 10th fastest woman ever over the distance.The 21-year-old finished second behind Gabrielle Thomas who finished with a time of 35.75 seconds.While Lynna Irby-Jackson, also from the USA, was third with a time of 36.05 seconds.Ofili won silver medal in the 200m, at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.At the 2019 All Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco, she won gold and silver in the 4x400m and 400m respectively.Get the latest news delivered straight to your inbox every day of the week.
