Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo felt his side 'controlled' Manchester United following their 2-1 triumph at the City Ground on Saturday evening.
Second-half goals from Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White, either side of a Marcus Rashford equaliser, sealed a fully merited three points for the home side, who were buoyed by their 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
They were quicker and sharper from the first whistle, dominating proceedings in midfield. They made life difficult for Christian Eriksen and Kobbie Mainoo in the engine room, stifling United's hopes of playing through the thirds while getting plenty of joy in the wide areas going forward.
They stepped up the level of pressure after the break, again getting success out wide. "I think we played good," Nuno told BBC Sport. "In the first half we controlled the game but didn't create many chances. "We controlled Manchester United, we know where they have quality.
