Pep Guardiola said last week that the season truly starts after the first international break and Manchester City's schedule is coming thick and fast.

City kicked off their Champions League defence with a 3-1 win at home to Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday evening, Julian Alvarez netting twice with Rodri grabbing the third after they went 1-0 down.

On Saturday, they return to Premier League action and will hope to continue their 100 per cent start to the season against Nottingham Forest.

But they will likely have to do so without Bernardo Silva, who was forced off in Tuesday's win. The Portuguese midfielder underwent further assessment on Thursday amid hope the issue is not as bad as first feared.
