'No honeymoon period' - the national media react to Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Manchester United arrival

After more than a year of waiting, the Glazers' strategic review finally came to a conclusion on Christmas Eve as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival at Manchester United was officially announced.

The British billionaire had been expected from October when Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani withdrew from the process but with Christmas on the horizon, few anticipated he would be announced in 2023.

Whatever the thoughts on the timing, United supporters will be equal parts pleased and sceptical by the minority acquisition by INEOS.

While plenty has changed in the past 48 hours, a lot has stayed the same too. The Glazers remain at Old Trafford and until Premier League ratification, Ratcliffe will have limited influence.
