Nick Montgomery let red carded Lewis Miller off the hook - after his goal took Hibs back into the top six. The Australian international got sent off for two yellow cards but he also provided the moment that mattered with his second half header at on-form Dundee.

Montgomery was disappointed that Miller needless got cautioned in a needless altercation with Owen Beck and then got carded again for fouling the same player.

Hibs, who moved into fifth, had gone ahead through Jair Tavares and Miller before he got ordered off and then Dundee pulled a late consolation goal back from Beck.

Montgomery said: “The first booking was silly. He didn’t need to get involved in the altercation and that’s what I’ve told him.
