NFL icon Tom Brady has become a minority owner of Birmingham City, the Championship club has announced. The seven-time Super Bowl champion, who has visited Old Trafford in the past, has joined forces with Knighthead Capital Management LLC to become minority owner.
The Blues, who signed right-back Ethan Laird from Manchester United earlier this summer, were the subject of a takeover last month and are now in the hands of US businessman Tom Wagner.
Brady, who is recognised as an all-time sporting great, has become the chairman of a new advisory board and will work directly with the club's board and members of Birmingham's leadership team.
He will work closely with the board and the management team on global marketing efforts and the identification of new commercial partnership opportunities for the club.
