Star India pacer Mohammed Siraj, who is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, has reported a "corrupt approach" to BCCI's Anti Corruption Unit (ACU).

Sources told NDTV that an unknown man, who is said to be a driver, sought inside information from Siraj on RCB. The BCCI has a strict code of conduct when it comes to corrupt approach.

If a player or an official fail to report a corrupt approach, he can be sanctioned as well. "It is acknowledged that the fight against corruption requires prompt reporting of all such approaches and any unnecessary delay in doing so may undermine the effectiveness with which the ACU BCCI and other relevant anti-corruption bodies can protect the integrity of the sport.

It is acknowledged that the assessment of whether there had been an 'unnecessary delay' in each case will depend on its own circumstances, but it is always unacceptable (and will therefore constitute 'unnecessary delay') for a Participant to wait until after the match in respect of which he/she was invited to engage in Corrupt Conduct before reporting that approach to the ACU BCCI," the BCCI's anti-corruption code says.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Mohammed Siraj lost his cool at Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter Phil Salt during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday. The incident happened in the penultimate over of the powerplay during DC's chase. Salt hit Siraj for three boundaries on the trot, with two of them going all the distance. Also, he has been pretty economical with 7/34 rpo, as compared to last season, where he leaked runs at over 10 runs per over. Former India pacer RP Singh heaped praise on Siraj, saying that the 29-year-old could become the next Mohammed Shami.
Aided by KL Rahul's injury early in the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore did just enough to eke out an 18-run win over Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring Indian Premier League game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday. LSG skipper Rahul pulled his right thigh muscle in the second over of RCB innings while trying to stop a boundary and came out to bat only towards the end, which acted in favour of the visitors. LSG dished out a fine bowling display to restrict RCB to a below-par 126 after being asked to bowl first.
