Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes that Phil Foden's best position is in the centre of the pitch. Foden has been City's in-form man in recent weeks after suffering a difficult spell just after the World Cup.
A foot injury which was picked up in the Manchester derby defeat kept him on the sidelines until February. When he first returned to the team, Foden had to settle for substitute cameos but earned a start against AFC Bournemouth and made a brilliant impact scoring one and assisting another.
The Englishman would then follow this up with a goal in last weekend's 2-0 victory over Newcastle United. He explained: "He’s someone when he first came onto the scene we all knew how special he was but he had a little bit of a dip - and all young players do - over the last couple of games he’s really been back to his best and it just offers a different dimension. "I actually think his best position is in the centre of the pitch in that number 10 role, he comes and plays on the right-hand side, and I love him on the right-hand side because he can play both ways.
