The Met Office says conditions could be set to pick up with "very warm" weather next week. Forecasters said low pressure in the northwest of the country will results in damp conditions for many areas at the start of the week.
In the south and east, there may be some travel disruptions due to heavy rain and odd thunder. However, Tuesday will be much brighter all around with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.
Showers are predicted to be more frequent in the north during the afternoon, where rainfall could occasionally be heavy throughout the day, the Mirror reports. The rain will be heavy and persistent at times and National Severe Weather warnings for rain have been issued for parts of Scotland from Wednesday through to Friday.” The Met Office's predictions for the end of the week state that warm to very warm air could be drawn up from the south, bringing temperatures well above average for this time of year.
