Matej Kovar leaves Manchester United on loan after agreeing new contract

Manchester United goalkeeper Matej Kovar has joined Sparta Prague on a season-long loan. Kovar, 22 , has also signed a new Uniteed contract until 2025, with the option of an additional year.

The Czech Republic 'keeper spent loan spells at Swindon and Burton in the last two seasons and had agreed to join Cheltenham on a season-long loan in July. Kovar joined the United academy from FC Slovácko in 2018 and he was included in manager Erik ten Hag's pre-season tour squad.

He was named on the bench in United's 1-0 win at Leicester last week after Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw withdrew through injury.
