Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis got caught in a row with a former Conservative MP on Good Morning Britain during a discussion on the current cost of living crisis.

Former Health Minister Edwina Currie stressed that the government "cannot do everything" when it comes to the current energy crisis and that people should do "whatever they can" to save money on their energy bills.

She also reaffirmed that high bills and rising cost of living falls on Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine which has driven the global cost of gas.

Despite the fact that the UK only receives a small fraction of its gas from Russia, overall wholesale prices have increased which has driven up the price of energy bills across the country.
