Manchester United saw plenty of change on Wednesday as the first manoeuvres of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era began. At lunchtime, the Reds announced Richard Arnold was leaving his role as CEO of the club after 21 months.
Arnold took on the role after Ed Woodward departed Old Trafford. His long-term replacement has yet to be decided however Patrick Stewart has been handed the position in the interim.
Meanwhile, MEN Sport understands Sir Jim Ratcliffe's right-hand man Sir Dave Brailsford has visited Carrington on several occasions over the past few weeks as the INEOS founder prepares to acquire 25 per cent of the club. Scholes is not convinced the Glazers will surrender full control of football operations to impending investor Ratcliffe. Should everything get over the line, widespread reports in recent weeks have suggested that Ratcliffe and INEOS, as part of the deal, will have full control of all football-related matters.
