Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has hinted that he may be starting for the club this evening when they face Leicester City in the last-16 of the Carabao Cup.
Andre Onana was preferred by Erik ten Hag since he arrived from Inter Milan last summer. Often, Premier League managers choose to pick their back-up goalkeepers in cup competitions, to allow for rotation and to give second choice players their opportunity to impress.
Ten Hag rarely subscribed to that model, though, with the ex-Fenerbahce stopper playing just two games during his tenure. His first appearance came in last season's FA Cup tie against League Two side, Newport County, before featuring again this season in the 7-0 thrashing of Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round.
