Manchester United supporters have watched on enviously this morning as a Premier League rival managed to complete a takeover of their club.
Before the international break, talk of a sale at Everton was not in the public domain although sentiment against the current board on Merseyside was at an all-time low.
While the benefits of 777 partners have been disputed it is hard not to feel a twinge of jealousy at how quickly a deal has managed to be completed.
Of course, securing a takeover at Everton compared to a club the size of United is always going to be quicker but the uncertainty being bred by the current regime only adds to the frustration.
