Manchester United are hopeful of announcing more contract renewals before the end of the season. United are in discussions over new terms for David de Gea, Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot, having reached agreements with Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho.
Club sources believe new terms for Rashford, 25, could take more time to finalise but United are aiming to have the 32-year-old De Gea under a new contract before his existing one expires on June 30. Dalot, 24, has started in 36 of United's 55 games this season while Rashford has scored a career-best 29 goals in 51 games. De Gea is the world's highest-paid goalkeeper on £375,000-a-week and United want to negotiate a reduction in his salary as he approaches the end of his 12th season at the club.
United's failure to qualify for the Champions League this season meant players' salaries were slashed by 25 per cent. Although United have a one-year option in De Gea's deal, exercising that would likely result in a wage hike with fourth-placed United seven points clear in the Premier League table.
