Manchester United are among the favourites to sign Benfica wonderkid Joao Neves, according to reports. The 19-year-old already has three caps for Portugal, having made his international debut in October.
Described as a deep-lying playmaker, Neves has emerged from the youth ranks following Enzo Fernandez’s move to Chelsea in January.
The prospect is the latest prodigy to emerge from the Benfica ranks, with Goncalo Ramos securing a £70million move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
A report from Portuguese outlet O Jogo claims United are monitoring Neves’ situation. His modest wage leaves plenty of scope for Old Trafford chiefs to negotiate with the player’s agent.
