Manchester United takeover bidder Thomas Zilliacus has told the Raine Group his offer to buy the club still stands. After it was announced that the Glazer family were inviting a third round of bids for the Reds, Finnish businessman Zilliacus declared himself out of the takeover race.
He later claimed he deemed a third round "unprofessional" but that his original offer remained on the table. It is understood offers for United should be submitted before the end of April.
In a tweet on Tuesday morning, Zilliacus set out the current status of his bid. "My bid does not have a cap. "The final price is subject to negotiations with the sellers." The chairman of the social media corporation novaM Group submitted a unique bid to buy the Reds back in March.
Zilliacus values United at 'just under $3.9bn' and were he to be successful in purchasing the club, his plan was to sell half of it back to supporters in shares.
