Manchester United supporters have been given precious little to shout about so far this season. However, on and off the field, there are a few green shoots of recovery to get them singing once again.
Investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe was rubber-stamped on Christmas Eve and that was followed up by a sensational comeback win over Aston Villa before Erik ten Hag and his men faced Nottingham Forest.
It remains to be seen what sort of impact Ratcliffe and INEOS Group will have on the club moving forward. No matter what changes they make behind the scenes or to their squad through the transfer market, though, two young starlets are bound to have a major part to play.
Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho - who helped beat Villa on Boxing Day - are shining lights for the present and future.
