Manchester United midfield ace Christian Eriksen has played down fears that he has suffered a serious injury after being pictured with a black eye during a Denmark training session.

The 31-year-old, who joined United on a free transfer almost a year ago, has linked up with his international colleagues ahead of Denmark's upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

They face Northern Ireland at home on Friday night before travelling to Ljubljana to face Slovenia away from home on Monday.

Leading up to the international double-header, however, Eriksen has suffered a nasty-looking eye injury. Pictures shared by the Danish FA on social media showed the United ace sporting surgical tape just above his left eye socket, plus purple bruising on his eyelid.
