Manchester City star striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has soared throughout March earning her the Barclays Player of the Month award after netting five goals.

The 26-year-old started March in style scoring a hattrick against Tottenham. The Jamaican then put two past Brighton and Hove Albion, solidifying her as the top scorer in the Women’s Super League on a 16-goal tally, three ahead of Daly.

This marks her second POTM award of the 2022/23 season. She also brought the accolade home for the month of October, having scored five goals in three games.

Shaw said: “I am so happy to win this award again – March was a very successful month for us on the pitch as a team, and I am very pleased to have been able to contribute with my goals. “To have beaten some very talented players to this award means a lot to me, and I would like to thank everybody who took the time to vote for me." Shaw saw off competition from Arsenal duo Caitlin Foord and Leah Williamson, Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly, Liverpool’s Emma Koivisto and West Ham United’s Vivi Asseyi to secure the award.
