Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is starting to accept that he is going to have to stay at Old Trafford this season, says journalist Jacque Talbot. The 37-year-old is thought to be keen on a departure, and while Talbot says his agent Jorge Mendes is still trying to get him a move, time is running out with the transfer window closing this week.
According to The Independent, Mendes has returned to Chelsea to see whether a deal to take Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge is possible.
The above comes after reports earlier this summer claimed that the west London club decided not to pursue him after co-owner Todd Boehly had initially held discussions with Mendes about a potential move.
It is believed that Ronaldo is eager to leave Old Trafford due to United’s failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League.
