Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford still has “some way to go” before convincing everyone that he deserves to play every week, says journalist Dean Jones. The 24-year-old has started in all seven of United’s Premier League fixtures so far this season, including the 6-3 thriller against rivals Manchester City over the weekend.
It was not Rashford’s best performance, with manager Erik ten Hag withdrawing him at the hour mark of the defeat. On the day, the £200,000-a-week Englishman failed to register a single shot (via WhoScored), while he recorded just one successful dribble at the Etihad.
Ultimately, it was a disappointing afternoon for Rashford and his team-mates, who shipped in six goals against a City side who looked unstoppable at times.
The season as a whole, though, Rashford will probably be satisfied with how things are going for him on a personal level. He has been a regular under Ten Hag and has managed to find the back of the net a few times in the Premier League.
