Man seriously injured after 'altercation' near pub with three men arrested

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an 'altercation' near a pub on Cheetham Hill Road. Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident just before 6am this morning (Saturday).

They found the 23-year-old man seriously injured, police said. He was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment. Three men - aged between 24 and 30 - have been arrested on suspicion of assault. The Manchester Evening News understands the incident was not believed to be a stabbing. This morning, a stretch of Cheetham Hill Road remains taped off by officers.

An area outside the Derby Brewery Arms is cordoned off. Detectives and uniformed officers have been pictured on the scene, with investigations being carried out within the cordon.
