Manchester City have not agreed a fee with Barcelona for Bernardo Silva, and still want to keep the midfielder this summer. Barcelona have not hidden their intention to sign Bernardo, despite having well-publicised financial issues this summer, and City manager Pep Guardiola last week admitted he doesn't know if the playmaker will still be at the club after the transfer window closes.
Bernardo has wanted to leave City in the past for personal reasons, but has always remained professional and committed to the club, and while City are open to selling players who want to leave they will only do so if an acceptable offer is received. City don't want to sell him, and if they did, they would require a significant transfer fee and would also need a replacement before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Guardiola said last week: "I would love if Bernardo could continue here because he's a special player for all of us in the locker room, but I don't know what is going to happen.
