A man has been charged with possession of a firearm following a police search. Cops were seen on Vernon Road in Bury on Friday (January 20).

just click here to give it a go. A statement from GMP said: "On Thursday 18 January 2024, officers arrested a male - believed to be linked to fraud case - on Vernon Road in Bury. "Officers searched the property under section 18 PACE and officers discovered a suspected firearm inside the property. "The firearm was soon confirmed as a prohibited weapon and a 41-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm. "On Friday 19 January 2024, Liam Anthony Howarth (26/01/1982) of Vernon Road, Greenmount was charged with possessing a firearm.
The fraud allegations are still being investigated. "He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates court this morning (Saturday 20 January 2024)."
