Major road taped off in Manchester city centre after Mercedes wrecked in smash

A car has been left wrecked after a crash on a main road in Manchester city centre. A black Mercedes-Benz collided with another vehicle in the Great Ancoats Street area, the Manchester Evening News understands, blocking traffic in one direction.

A section of the ring road was closed with traffic diverted away from the area while police dealt with the incident which took place earlier today (February 25).

Some buses were rerouted to avoid the area following the crash, but the road reopened by 12.38pm. The M.E.N. understands the crash involved two vehicles.
