Members of the Lothian Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club based in Armadale tasted international success for Team GB in Japan.

Players Finlay Erskine and Daniel McLaughlin as well as coach Mark Stevenson won gold at the Kitakyushu Championships Cup. Team GB got the better of both Japan and Korea in thrilling pool games to set up a final showdown against the latter.

A terrific performance saw Team GB run out 60-48 winners and be crowned Kitakyushu champions. All players and the coaching staff had the opportunity to experience some local culture and visit schools, introducing young people to the sport and inspiring the next generation of wheelchair basketballers.
