Scotland go into their Euro 2024 group campaign as 'clear outsiders' as German legend Lothar Matthaus issued yet another bizarre blast at Scottish football.
Matthaus hasn't been afraid to give some harsh words when both Rangers and Celtic have flopped in Europe over the years. The ex-Bayern Munich star even branded the Ibrox side as a 'third-rate team' during their dramatic run to the 2022 Europa League Final.
He then followed that up by criticising Celtic in last season's Champions League after insisting RB Leipzig were 'lucky' to be drawn against a 'limited team' like the Hoops.
Now Mattheus – who once managed Scotland's Euro 2024 opponents Hungary for a three-year spell in 2003 before he was sacked for failing to qualify for any tournaments – has again written off the Scots and instead detailed why the Hungarians or Switzerland will finish second behind Germany at the showpiece event.
