Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak go head to head at Conservative leadership hustings in Cardiff

Conservative leadership contenders, Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss, are set to go head-to-head in a hustings in Cardiff on from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday.

Both candidates will face questions from various Welsh Tory members.This will be the third hustings of the contest, but the and only one taking place in Wales, with upcoming events set in towns and cities such as Eastbourne, Manchester and Belfast.

The new Tory leader will be declared on September 5 and will replace Boris Johnson as UK's Prime Minister. Only qualifying members at the time of hustings can attend, with the event commencing at 7pm.

This latest hustings comes after Liz Truss was forced to perform a U-turn on her plan for public sector workers' pay after facing backlash earlier this week.
