Liverpool may have to wait until next summer to lure Jude Bellingham to Anfield as Borussia Dortmund are unlikely to sanction the midfielder’s exit ahead of the September 1 deadline, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth. The Bundesliga giants have already seen one of their star men depart in recent months, with Erling Haaland joining Manchester City for £51million, but Bellingham is continuing to attract attention.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool are very interested in Bellingham and facing competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
The report suggests Dortmund are unwilling to sell the 15-cap England international for less than £103million and are in a strong negotiating position as Bellingham’s contract, which does not include a release clause, has three years to run.
If Liverpool were to meet the Bundesliga giants’ valuation, it would result in the 19-year-old becoming the most expensive signing in the Reds’ history.
