LIVE updates: Police and serious collision unit close road amid reports of boy hit by a vehicle

A road in Oldham has been taped off this evening following reports of a boy being hit by a vehicle. Emergency services including an air ambulance and the serious collision unit were scrambled to Vulcan Road in Oldham at around 7pm this evening.

Eyewitnesses report seeing a collision involving a 'young boy', but the exact nature of the incident is unclear. Vulcan Road remains closed while police and ambulance services work at the scene. We are still awaiting a statement from GMP. The M.E.N understands that a car with a 'damaged bumper' is parked on the side of the road, a short distance down from where accident investigation teams are placing markers.
