Live updates as M4 crash causes 12 miles of queues around Newport

Queues are building on the M4 in Newport after a crash. Traffic monitoring service Inrix says there is queuing traffic due to an accident on the M4 eastbound carriageway from Junction 24 at the A449 (Coldra) to Junction 23A A4810 (Magor Services).According to live traffic data from Google Maps, as of 7.57am there is around 12 miles of congestion.

Queues are stretching from Junction 23A (Wilcrick) to Junction 29 (Castleton). There is a brief patch of fast-moving traffic around Junction 27 and Junction 28.
