Nine people are due to be sentenced today for taking part in a shocking violent disturbance at a Swansea cemetery.Armed police and a force helicopter were scrambled to Morriston Cemetery on the afternoon of August 5 last year following reports of a mass graveside fight, weapons being brandished, and vehicles being driven dangerously.
Two people were subsequently taken to hospital with serious injuries.Following a major police investigation 13 men and children were charged with a range of offences in connection with the incident including inflicting grievous bodily harm, violent disorder, and the possession of offensive weapons ranging from a baseball bat to a machete.Nine men will appear in the dock of Swansea Crown Court today to be sentenced for their parts in the disorder.
