LIVE: Traffic queuing for NINE miles on M60 as repairs carried out - latest updates

Huge queues are building on a stretch of the M60 this morning due to emergency repairs being carried out. Two lanes have been shut off on the anticlockwise carriageway near junction 13 for Worsley.

According to National Highways, this is due to a 'carriageway defect'. Emergency repairs are being carried out. Traffic is currently queueing for around nine miles up to the closure. A tweet posted by National Highways said: "2 (of 3) lanes closed on the #M60 anti-clockwise within J13 (#Worsley) due to a carriageway defect. "Team en route to undertake emergency repairs.
