Police have cordoned off a road in Salford this morning after a man was hit by a car. The crash happened on Canal Bank in the Monton area at around 7am today (Friday).

The man was taken to hospital after being struck, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said. The driver remained on the scene.
