There are delays of up to an hour on a stretch of the M6 this afternoon after a crash between a car and a tanker. One lane has been closed off on the northbound carriageway between junction 25 and junction 26 near Wigan.
Traffic is currently queueing for around six miles, according to National Highways. Congestion is back to junction 23. Motorway cameras show queues building up to the incident.
