Lionel Messi has been named men's player of the year at the 2022 Best Fifa Awards at a ceremony in Paris.The Paris St-Germain and Argentina talisman scooped the accolade ahead of the France's Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema.Messi scored 27 goals in 49 games for club and country last season as he played a key role in helping Argentina to their third World Cup.Lionel Scaloni was named men's coach of the year for his part in the triumph in Qatar, seeing off competition from Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti for the honour.Alexia Putellas of Barcelona and Spain was named women's player of the year.
