Legends League: Yusuf Pathan, Pankaj Singh Star As India Maharajas Beat World Giants In Charity Match

Yusuf Pathan smashed an unbeaten fifty as India Maharajas defeated World Giants by six wickets in a special charity match in Kolkata on Friday.

The game was played ahead of Legends League Cricket, beginning here on Saturday. Yusuf, who had slammed the second-fastest IPL fifty in 15 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad here in their triumphant 2014 campaign, showed his old fury in a 35-ball 50 not out to take them home with eight balls to spare.

Yusuf, a winner of three IPL titles, struck all around the Eden including a huge six off Daniel Vettori into the stands in his assault to lead the charge.

In all, he struck two sixes and five fours. No 3 Tanmay Srivastava (54) gave a fine support at the other end as the duo put together a match-turning 103-run partnership after Maharajas were reduced to 50/3 after the powerplay in pursuit of a challenging 171.

The announcement was made during the press conference in Jaipur ahead of the grand finale which was attended by India Capitals' skipper Gautam Gambhir and Bhilwara King's captain Irfan Pathan along with Raman Raheja, CEO, and Co-Founder, Legends League Cricket.
Mohammad Kaif stunned the fans by showcasing glimpses of his old self, attacking the opposition bowling attack in style. During the match between Manipal Tigers and India Capitals, Kaif walked down the pitch to hammer the bowlers. This quickly reminded fans of his batting during India's tour of Pakistan in 2004 when kaif irked Shoaib Akhter with a similar batting approach. Kaif was brilliant in that ODI series which India won by 3-2. His series-levelling unbeaten knock of 71 in the fourth match is still fresh in fans' hearts. Kaif also revisited the memories when he later took to Twitter and posted a video of both the events. "Walking is good for health!! #never stop walking. Bhilwara Kings batted in a royal fashion to tame the Gujarat Giants and book a place in the final of the ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC) against India Capitals. In the Eliminator contest at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium on Monday, the Kings' batters out-muscled the Giants by chasing down a 195-run target in 18.3 overs to register a six-wicket win. 
Mitchell Johnson has been handed a warning and docked 50 percent of his match fees for involving in a heated argument with Bhilwara Kings' Yusuf Pathan during a Legends League match here. The incident took place during the qualifier match between India Capitals and Bhilwara Kings where Johnson got engaged in a verbal exchange with Bhilwara Kings' batter Pathan and was seen pushing the latter away before the umpires intervened on Sunday.
