Paris Saint-Germain and France star Kylian Mbappe has waxed lyrical about Manchester City transfer target Jeremy Doku. City, who maintained their winning start to the Premier League campaign a 1-0 triumph over Newcastle United on Saturday, are closing in on the Belgian international after agreeing a fee understood to be in the region of £55.5million with Rennes.
Agreeing personal terms with the winger is not expected to be an issue. Doku, who caught the eye at the rearranged European Championship in the summer of 2021, is on course to become City's third signing of the summer.
The Blues need to strengthen their wide options after the sale of Riyad Mahrez last month. Doku, 21, will add pace and trickery to Pep Guardiola's pool of attacking options, as well as a goal threat.
He netted seven goals and registered four assists in all competitions for Rennes last season.
