Bexley are the Kent League Premier Division frontrunners after they narrowly won away to fourth-placed St Lawrence & Highland Court on Saturday.
Calum Basey’s 56-ball 62 guided the away side to 253-8 from their 50-over allocation while Oliver Curtiss (3-33) and Australian overseas Jack Heuston (2-44) got among the wickets for St Lawrence.
Newly-appointed Kent red-ball captain Jack Leaning played for the hosts but was out for only 19 and, despite half-centuries from Will Hilton (55) and John Grewar (50), they could only make 230-9 in reply as they suffered back-to-back defeats.
Harry Dowling’s 3-47 saw him finish with Bexley’s best figures. For them, it’s now three league triumphs on the spin. Just two points separate second-placed Tunbridge Wells and Lordswood, in third, after the latter won a rain-affected game by 93 runs.
