Johnny Kenny holds undying Celtic first team belief as forgotten loanee resets goals after double career 'setback'

dailyrecord.co.uk

Honest Johnny Kenny hopes to get his Celtic career back on track after the "setback" of missing out on regular game time since his Parkhead switch.

The 19-year-old left Sligo Rovers to pen a five-year deal in the Scottish Premiership but was hampered by injury woes during his first six months in Glasgow's east end, and dropped out of the first-team picture to the B team squad in the Lowland League.

The striker was then sent out on loan to Championship title hopefuls Queen's Park but failed to make his mark on Owen Coyle's side as he failed to find the net in 12 appearances - mainly coming off the bench.

His loan in Scotland's second tier was cut short allowing him to return to Northern Ireland and pick up regular game time with Shamrock Rovers - netting twice since the return to the Irish Premier Division.
