John Lundstram insists there is no major gulf between Rangers and Celtic in the wake of his side's League Cup final pain. The midfielder has admitted his own performance levels weren't where he wanted them to be in the 2-1 Viaplay Cup showpiece, while boss Michael Beale said no player in blue did themselves justice at Hampden.

Celtic also hold a nine-point gap in the Premiership title race and are on course to retain that trophy, with Rangers defending their Scottish Cup crown.

Despite having not won against Ange Postecoglou's men this term, Lundstram insists there isn't a major gap between the pair.

He explained: "It is one game, they turned up and we didn't. I think the combination for that didn't complement each other well.
