Joe Worrall thought Rangers phone call from Steven Gerrard was a prank as he owns 'tough' Ibrox factor

Former Rangers loan star Joe Worrall admits he thought he was being pranked by Steven Gerrard when he was asked to head to Ibrox.

The Nottingham Forest skipper spent the 2018/19 season away from his boyhood club as he learned the ropes under the Liverpool icon in Glasgow.

Worrall, at times, impressed but also experienced growing pains during his time in Scotland. But it helped him emerge as a bonafide star at his hometown club.

And he has opened up, for the first time, on the call which led him to Rangers and how he thought he was at the middle of an elaborate ruse.
