Southern Counties East Premier Division Lydd have named their new joint-bosses - days before their new season starts. The Lydders’ promotion-winning manager, Mickey Doyle, stood down earlier in the summer, citing work and family commitments.
He has been replaced by vastly experienced players James Rogers and Tom Wynter ahead of Saturday’s home game against Holmesdale.
In a club statement on Thursday, Lydd said: “Lydd Town Football Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of James Rogers and Tom Wynter as the new joint-managers for the upcoming 2023/2024 season. “With great anticipation, the club eagerly awaits their first competitive match, which is scheduled for this Saturday at home against Holmesdale FC. “In this momentous encounter, Lydd Town will etch their name in history as they play in the first-ever game at the SCEFL Premier Division level following their well-deserved promotion last season. “The decision to appoint Rogers and Wynter - affectionately known as ‘Rogo’ and ‘Wyns’ by the team - was made after careful consideration.
Both managers bring a wealth of experience and success to the table, having demonstrated their abilities during their tenure at Hythe Town in the 2021 season. “Lydd Town firmly believes that their expertise will serve the club well during this exciting journey ahead. “Rogo and Wyns will be joined by the existing management team of Owen [Kessack] and Dexter [Gondongwe], who will continue in their current roles. “Their commitment and dedication have been instrumental in the team’s success thus far, and their collaboration with the new joint-managers is expected to create a dynamic and cohesive leadership unit. “The club wishes to extend its heartfelt congratulations to Rogo and Wyns on
